Grimoire Magic
Ok I will try to explain my ideas with the grimoiremagic.com portal. The main purpose for this site is the grimoires but I have not limited it to that alone. There is a wide variety of subject forums to discuss. Depend on what the users want I can add and remove things to better suit the need the portal will satisfy. The reason why I have not limited it to grimoires only is to try and get as many people as possible posting so that there is always new material somewhere. I am also hoping that if other magic styles come to this board that they will see the amazing world of grimoires and gain a bigger interest in it.
Other kinds of magic we discuss in the forum is modern grimoire magic, enochian magic, hermetic magic, ceremonial magic, qabbalah, voodoo, hoodoo, Santeria, witchcraft, Wicca and more. So any serious student of Magic will find a place on this site.
As you can see it has basically two parts. One is the forum and one is the blog. Let’s start with the blog. My idea is that it should not be a blog for just one person but rather a group of people that can add things from a large variety of subjects. Any person with knowledge will get author permission to it so they can add new blogs in to it. It can be used for everything from discussing a subject to promote books or you’re self as an author, publisher or whatever. If there is a subject we should add just let me know and I will do just that. My hope is that we will get a large number of different people that will contribute to the blog so that it will have a constant stream of new things to read.
The forum part is much the same but here there is a much bigger possibility to hold discussions on the subjects. There are also two special groups called VIP and Authors that have extra permissions to the content. First of all the VIP and Author groups are the only groups that have forums that normal users can’t access. The only people allowed in these forums are the Admins and the members of either VIP or the Author group. I want to include these groups in to the decision making parts as much as possible. Each user will of course decide their own level of involvement but even if one chose not to be as involved they will still have a good idea of what direction the portal is taking.
There is now also third parts that is added and that is the GrimoirePedia a Wikipedia for magic and most of all for the grimoires. This is something that people have wanted in the past and I will gladly let people fill in all the information in to it and I am sure I will find time doing that my self once in a while. I would really like to find someone that is willing to pull that project on their own. I will give that person all the access needed in that case.
Any ideas or opinions are welcome from anyone on any level. Also if someone thinks the design sucks they are totally welcome to suggest another design more fitting. I am far from a designer so I am well aware of my limits.
