I doubt most of my readers read this type of books but I still find it a good idea to let people know about this. Her book Beyond the Third Eye has been pulled from publication after it was found that she had plagiarist big parts of the book. The people behind this exposure are now being harassed all over the internet by Rochelle her self and her fans. Now you are at least aware of this and can make a choice to warn people about this or not.

I have set up a Grimoire Magic channel on YouTube where I will talk about different subjects regarding Grimoires and other forms of magic. You are all invited to add magic related videos to the channel. New additions to the channel will be announced in this blog and I hope it will become something we can all gain from.

Would be great if you would let me know what you would like me to talk about so I can plan that. Now in the beginning I will start by talking about some of the Grimoires and show some root magic workings. You will find the channel here or in the menu to the right.

Hi all!

Today I received the Lion skin part that will be made in to the belt of the Goetia. It was a perfect piece that has not been tempered with which I am glad for since I want to do that part my self. It really is a beautiful skin that is hard to describe the feeling of without holding it in your own hands.

Here is the front side of it with the fur.

Here you can see the back of it without fur and this is where the text goes when done.

You will be able to read about how I made the things still needed to be done in Volume II in the Series on Grimoire Magic. I will also video tape all that I do so it will be easy to follow. An alternative to using a real lion skin belt will also be presented in the book and video. Will take a while to finish that project and I need to finish volume I in the series first of all since it is a primer to all following books. I hope you can all live with me being a bit slow on finishing the stuff:) I do way to many things at the same time.

This is an unedited part that deals with the relations to God when working grimoires. The text might change some before the book goes to print.

God or Gods

God or gods are important in Grimoire magic because when we work with these entities we are doing it thru our divine spark. In theory we all are creations of god no matter what god or gods you choose to believe in and it is thought that we all have an inner part of god in us often called the divine spark. It is thru that we can actually do magic. Many believe that Moses was taught magic on the Sinai Mountain while he also received the books of Moses. So in Judaism, Christianity and Islam mythology Moses was the first magician and it was with that magic King Solomon built his temple of by ordering an army of demons to do the building of the temple. So the connection to the grimoires is rather obvious.

In more or less all the grimoires the religions inspiring them is Judaism, Christianity or Islam. That means they all share a rather similar concept and that many of the textures for these religions apply to more than one of the religions. You do not need to be a deeply religious person to do this magic but you needs to believe in the entities you are invoking or evoking. If you do not do that you will not succeed in your work. It is important though to understand that your personal faith can be far from how most religious people view their religion.

There are some things you need to be able to accept when working with the grimoires regarding its relationship with religion. First thing you need to be able to accept is that their design is including many religious ideas and theory. Also you cannot change that design unless you know exactly why it is designed that way. Many of the magicians in the times the grimoires were written were highly religious people and sometimes even priests. You also need to have a belief in the spirit world and have some sort of belief in a higher being symbolized by God. All you have to be able to do is to apply your own belief structure to fit in with Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Basically the demands to be able to do this kind of magic can be summarized in to being able to accept the following. There is a higher intelligence that in part exists in all humans. The magic works thru that part of that intelligence that is in us and it lets us control a number of higher and lower beings in the spiritual world. The symbols and words used in this kind of magic fits in to a larger design often based on a religious system. Changes to these symbols and words cannot be changed without fully understanding the design. The important part in the grimoires is not how you perceive the spiritual; it is how the grimoire makers perceived it that matters.

If one can accept those terms it does not matter if you personally believe that God is actually called “Spiderman” or “Jehovah”. Nor does it matter how you perceive the spiritual world, at least not to be able to perform the magic in the grimoires. All that matters is that you can look beyond your own belief structure and apply it to the grimoires belief structure or at least are willing to set aside your own belief structure and apply another one. If you cannot do this you will be better of finding another system of magic to work with.

It is also very important to figure your belief system out before you start working with this kind of magic. You do not want to go head to head with a demon and be insecure about your own beliefs. Also remember that most churches consider this kind of work to be the work of the devil and that it will judge you to an existence in hell after life. Not that I agree with this but unless you are very sure that you will not agree with that in the future you perhaps should reconsider doing this or any kind of magic.

Update

16/08/09

Now I am done with my contribution to “From a drop of water” unless Kim wants me to edit something else:) Changed the title to “A flow of water thru the Grimoire world. This means that the blogs will start coming at normal speeds again. Just need to reprogram my mind to not think of water all the time:)

I will probably be a bit busy the next two weeks as I am working on an essay for an upcoming anthology by Avalonia Books. So I will have to concentrate on that right now or at least try to:) That means I might not update that much at the moment but I will return again in about 2 weeks or when I know how much I can tell you about the this new project I am working on. All I can tell you right now is that it will be a rather different essay even if its still about grimoire magic.

Hopefully MagiAwen will find time to do a blog while I am busy. We will just have to wait and see.

I am sure some of you have already heard of her before since she used to be rather active in forums and writing articles that got up in different places. For those of you that have not she is a very talented magician and deals mostly with her own form of hermetic magic. Her mentor was or still is in a way William Mistele so she do know what she is talking about. She is also the magician who helped me out with the pact I wrote about in Both Sides of Heaven. You can also find her own blog on the front page on the Grimoire Magic Portal.

Anyway I am glad to have her with us and hope she will find some time to blog here once in a while.

I am sorry for not writing any updates for a couple of weeks but it seems like Tor the god of thunder decided that I needed a break or just a new computer since my old one got toasted by lightning. Gave me a great excuse to burn some money on a new laptop that is still amazing me. I just hope I can keep it alive longer then Sorita is keeping her laptops functional:)

Unfortunately this has caused me to slip behind on my work a bit though. So I will have to finish a few articles before I do more updates on the blog here but do not worry it wont be long. At the moment I am working on 3 articles besides my book. One about King Solomon and his magical life and how it connects to the grimoires, another one about The Key of Solomon that ties in to the previously mentioned article and the last article I am working on is about grimoires and water. The last one will be a surprise on what it is for. The first two is for the Swedish pagan association Vitkaförbundet and their member magazine. I will be translating both those articles later and release them in English at a later time.

Anyway at least you know I am still around and back online again! Remember to contact me if you also would like to write things for this blog.

Welcome to the Grimoire Magic Blog.

The idea of this blog is that it will provide you with news first of all regarding grimoire work but also to let people know what is happening around the world. It is not restricted t one single user being able to submit logs but rather a team of people that are allowed to publish any information they see fit in here.
